Primary Printing Methods: Which One Should You Choose?
Modern printing is a diverse concept. It is not only about mass printing, but also the creation of banners and other advertising products. Most often, this is a full cycle of work, starting from the idea of how the printed material will look and ending with the production of the finished product.
The main types of printing used in Ukraine:
- offset;
- stencil (silk printing);
- digital jet;
- digital laser.
What are their features and when it is better to choose one or another type of printing, read in our article.
Offset printing
An ideal option for printing large editions. During offset printing, the image is transferred using an intermediate offset shaft. A certain color is applied to each photoform, shades are superimposed on each other, and a full-color image is obtained.
Offset printing is valued for the speed at which high quality prints are maintained.
The disadvantage is that it is not profitable to print small editions. Offset printing is better to choose if you need to print a lot. Also, despite the high speed of printing, the preparation process still takes time. If you need to print a small run quickly, it is better to choose something else.

Screen printing
An excellent choice if the order is made for the production of a small edition of inexpensive printed materials - newspapers, forms or postcards.
A separate type of silk-screen printing is risograph printing, which can boast of a short preparation for printing. Minus - print quality, high-quality color images will not be available, and halftones will be missing when printing in monochrome. Thus, for printing images, it is better to choose another type of printing, but if it is a question of printing various instructions or forms, risography is the optimal choice. Fast and inexpensive.

Digital inkjet printing
The main advantage is the ability to get high-quality color images not only on paper, but also on other materials, such as printing of stickers.
Another significant advantage of digital printing is the ability to make adjustments during the printing process. For example, if you did not like something on the first copies, it can be easily corrected at the next stage of printing. It is also worth considering that the ink in inkjet printing is not resistant to moisture or friction, so lamination is desirable.

Digital laser printing
Laser printing is often used when printing drawings and documents. Images and text are applied to the paper with a laser beam, that is, the colored toner is simply melted into the paper.
Laser printing can be monochrome or color. Modern equipment models allow you to reproduce a rich palette of shades as accurately as possible. In addition to paper, digital printing is possible on plastic, wood and fabrics.
Laser printing can be used for small runs. If we are talking about large batches of printed materials (posters, stands, banners), then large-format laser printing is required.
Each printing method is better suited for a specific purpose. Each method has its pros and cons. Therefore, before ordering, we recommend that you consult with the manager printing house of Dniproa graph that will tell you the most profitable type of printing for a specific order.
